Nathalie Bekx
Nathalie Bekx earned her master’s degree in history while working full-time as a teacher and also pursued postgraduate studies in marketing. A curiosity about what drives people and how societies change has shaped her career ever since.
She moved from education into the media, where she spent many years leading women’s magazines. For around a decade, she wrote weekly columns for publications including De Standaard and De Morgen, honing her ability to spot social shifts and explain their significance.
In 1996, she founded Trendhuis, a research and communications consultancy serving businesses, public authorities and non-profit organisations. As an entrepreneur and trendwatcher, she translates societal change into strategic insights and practical initiatives, with a particular focus on the labour market, entrepreneurship and sustainability.
She spent many years as a guest lecturer at institutions including UAMS and Odisee. She has written several books on the labour market, entrepreneurship and sustainable business, including works co-authored with Bob Elsen. A sought-after speaker, she combines entrepreneurial experience with a keen understanding of society.
Her wider commitments have included serving on the steering committee of Kom op tegen Kanker and on the board of ViaVia Tourism Academy. Today, she leads Trendhuis and Time4Society, the non-profit organisation she founded in 2008 to connect companies and their employees with community organisations.
