Kurt Decat graduated as Commercial Engineer and holds a Master of Business Administration from KU Leuven.

He began his career as an auditor at PwC and subsequently gained additional financial experience at Federal Express, Minit International and Corus Aluminium. After several years of operational and general business management experience at Domo, he served for 11 years as Chief Financial Officer of the chemical company Taminco (Company of the Year 2010). He then spent nearly six years as Group CFO at the minerals company Sibelco, and after a short period as a Private Equity Operating Partner, he went on to serve for two years as CFO of Versuni in Amsterdam (a carve-out from Philips and also PE-owned).

Since September 2024, Kurt has been active as a self-employed and independent board member, mentor, coach and advisor, enthusiastically leveraging and sharing his experience to empower companies and executives in a coaching and pragmatic manner. He also does so as a volunteer for several not-for-profit organizations.
